Our second day here at Kruger was simply amazing. We went for two game drives – one in the morning and one in the late afternoon. Our morning game drive started at 6am in the morning. I am really not a morning person, but if there’s anything worth waking up for, a game drive at Kruger is definitely on that list.
Despite the really chilly weather, our drive around Kruger during sunrise really an overwhelming experience. Being a city boy all my life, a sunrise and the start of the day means its time to head out for school or work. But today, the sunrise meant adventure and the opportunity to see nature at its very best – and we were definitely not disappointed. In our two drives, we saw lions, elephants, antelopes, warthogs, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, and many different types of birds and plants. Our guide, Leonard, even drove us to the border between South Africa and Mozambique during our evening drive!
We ended our day with a team bonding session – playing a game of Celebrity (which included a round where we had to act out given words while wearing a sheet). We were spilt back into our laser tag teams, and this time my team won the game (we drew 2-2 during laser tag). We spent the rest of the night watching the English-Uruguay World Cup match – which was intensely disappointing for me as the Three Lions lost the game 5 minutes from time.
So that’s the short summary of our day. Here are some picture I took during the two game drives today:
