The NHL season is back in swing and a small part of games are up on the plank to get Monday night. Two matches will soon be up on the board for October 7. Both of these teams have had starts to the season, but will look to earn an early-season triumph on Monday night. This game will start tonight.
Buffalo has gotten off to a fast start to the year, going 2-0. The Sabres have connected to the second seed in the Atlantic Division together to the Boston Bruins and the Detroit Red Wings. Buffalo didnt have a fantastic season last season, finishing away from the playoff picture, but will appear to continue this strong start to attempt to get to the postseason this time around.
The Blue Jackets have fallen to 0-2 to start this season. Columbus is the only team without a point in the Metropolitan Division, so that they need to discover a means to flip it around if they wish to make it back. The Blue Jackets lost a lot of key players. It is still so Columbus will seem to turn around this start with a win at home on Monday night.
The Sabres and the Blue Jackets completed in reverse positions last year, but have changed areas early this season. This reveals the effects that NHL offseason can have. Both teams have 80 games but both teams could use a huge win on Monday night to attempt to find the momentum for the areas of the season.
Buffalo and Columbus met last season a total of 3 times up. The Blue Jackets took the first match of the season 5-4 in overtime on an Artemi Panarin objective. As Conor Sheary play with the game winning goal in the third to give Buffalo a 5-4 win the match was a win by the Sabres. Sergei Bobrovsky pitched a shutout to give Columbus a 4-0 win, although Buffalo sponsored the last game in the season.
The Sabres have started off this year . Buffalo subsequently dominated the New Jersey Devils to a 7-2 triumph in their home . Rasmus Dahlin has a goal and three assists to lead the team points. Conor Sheary, Sam Reinhart, along with victor Olofsson all lead the team in goals with two.
The Jackets started the period with a matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs but fell 4-1. In which they have discounted 7-2 columbus met up with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Riley Nash leads the team in points with two assists on the year. Cam Atkinson, Gustav Nyquist, and Zach Werenski are the 3 goal scorers for the Jackets on this season.
Buffalo has had a solid beginning to the season. The Sabres have had six power play chances and also have capitalized on a few of these. Buffalo was penalized seven times but have just let one power play goal. The Sabres power play has been impressive, but it will not stay that strong throughout this season.
The unique teams of columbus has not been doing as well. The Blue Jackets have played on one of their six power play opportunities. The penalty kill of columbus has allowed three goals. The Jackets special teams was dominated through the first part of this year, making me believe that they will make some modifications to attempt to find the two sides going.
I dont think that will be what happens, although the Sabres power play includes a opportunity to set up another strong outing against the penalty kill. I believe Buffalos power play will probably return down sooner rather than later as I said. I believe that Columbus will create the necessary changes to limit the chances which the Sabres get on Monday night.
Carter Hutton will likely get the nod in net for Buffalo on Monday. Hutton has jumped into a 2-0 record this year. Hes 46 saves on 49 shots this season for a save percentage of .939 plus a 1.50 GAA. Hutton completed with an 18-25-5 record last season. He previously had a .908 save percentage and a GAA of 3.00.
Joonas Korpisalo will probably start in this matchup for Columbus. Korpisalo began the first game of the season, where he allowed four goals on 29 shots in course to a percentage of .862. Joonas Korpisalo travelled 20-7-3 during last year. He had a save percentage of .897 and a GAA of 2.95. This is Korpisalos very first season as a rookie, so it will be intriguing to see how he can the stretch down.
Hutton had a solid start to year but struggled as the Sabres started to fight later in this season. If Buffalo can continue to offer some strong defense in front of Hutton, I believe that he will maintain the powerful numbers. Korpisalo had a tough beginning to the season, but hell look to bounce back to attempt to earn the first triumph of the Blue Jackets year old.
I feel that Columbus has a opportunity to earn their first win of the season on Monday night. I dont expect them to remain undefeated for long, although the Sabres have started 2-0 this season term. The Blue Jackets have even taken a hit from Panarin, Bobrovsky, along with Duchene leaving, but I still think they have a solid group. I believe they can get in the win column, if some adjustments are made by Columbus to their special teams.
BetOnline has got the Blue Jackets listed as a -111 against the money line. This means that Columbus gets the advantage in this game. I think that that this line is true. I think there is a fantastic quantity of value on the Blue Jackets, Because Columbus is only small favorites though.
