Dario Gradi has retired by his character and from his director of football position .
During a period as the most successful manager in their background, Gradi was accountable for 1,359 matches, winning four promotions and directing Crewe to the second grade of English football in 1997 and 2003, before proceeding into a position as technical director.
Crewe Alexandra would like to thank Dario for his excellent 36 decades of service to the football club and are very happy to know he will be happy to continue to assist the teams senior training staff with his invaluable expertise later on, read a club statement.
In 2016, the 78-year-old was suspended as a director by the Football Association preventing him from taking part in any activities – whether it ran a high-level investigation

Back in January 1998 Gradi had been awarded the MBE for his services to football, receiving the PFA Merit Award in 2004 and in 2011 that he had been honoured by the Football League because of hiscontribution to league soccer.
